Volunteer Information

The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) provides telephone and in-person health insurance counseling services to Medicare beneficiaries and their caregivers.

Much of this work is done by volunteers who undergo extensive training and are certified by the Minnesota Board on Aging. These volunteers assist Medicare beneficiaries of all ages and their caregivers in understanding their benefits; in reviewing supplements and public programs to fit their particular needs; in resolving claims and billing issues and ensuring that claims are paid properly; considering long-term care insurance as an option to finance future care; and exploring ways to lower prescription drug costs.

Adults of any age with an interest in and preferably knowledge of Medicare and health insurance are particularly needed. Comfort in working with a population of older adults & person with disabilities is also important.

To volunteer, contact Marjori Botilla, Volunteer Coordinator, or the Senior LinkAge Line™ or at 1-800-333-2433.
