| Being an Older Adult Friendly Faith Community

As we age, our senses change. With those changes, certain environmental changes make it more welcoming for us to function. As eyesight changes, larger print in bulletins and newsletters makes it much easier and more inviting for us. As our mobility lessens, fewer stairs, less slippery surfaces, handrails all make it easier to get around. These are just two examples of ways to make buildings safer and send a clear message to older adults that they are welcome your faith community. There are a number of other changes and ways to make persons feel welcome. These changes involve;

| Seeking Members to Serve on the Advisory Committee on Aging The Arrowhead Regional Development Commission (ARDC) is seeking persons to serve on the Advisory Committee on Aging. The Committee guides the activites of the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging. Persons age 60+ are especially encouraged to apply. | A collection of VHS and DVD videos, books, resource manuals, computer CD-ROM software and simulations are available for checkout by contacting the Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging in Duluth, Minnesota.
