Empower and support our community in managing health as we age!
Living Well with Chronic Conditions workshop is designed to improve the self-management skills of people living with ongoing health issues. Condi-tions like arthritis, heart problems, mental health conditions, chronic pain, cancer, or diabetes can cause those affected to lose physical condi-tioning and suffer health problems over many years. We are looking for people to be trained as workshop leaders for the Arrowhead Region.
Originally developed and tested through the School of Medicine at Stan-ford University, this program teaches new strategies that will give partici-pants the confidence, motivation, and skills needed to manage the chal-lenges of living with a chronic health condition.
Trained leaders will facilitate a six-week workshop that empowers those living with ongoing health issues to learn the skills to increase their quali-ty of life. The workshops are taught by two trained peer leaders, some who have health conditions themselves.
