The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging is a leader in developing Age-Friendly Communities through locally led initiatives.  Thanks to the support of the Minnesota State Legislature, the Governor’s Council on an Age-Friendly Minnesota and community partners are working hard to invest in powerful public and private partnerships that engage older people and our communities in advancing the social, economic, environmental and lifestyle changes needed to influence health and longevity for us all. 


The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is a direct provider of Information, Referral and Assistance through the Senior LinkAge Line. The services of Senior LinkAge Line are available over the phone. Call the Senior LinkAge Line at 800-333-2433, Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is a leader in developing an Age Friendly Arrowhead. Age Friendly Minnesota is a statewide policy to promote healthy aging, requires engaging with older adults as contributors to the social, economic and civic fabric of our communities, encouraging physical and psychological health and well-being. The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is a part of the research-proven Juniper program available to people throughout the state. Through an integrated network of community organizations and health systems, Juniper is helping everyone live healthier, more connected lives. A network of local leaders, community organizations and health systems, Juniper delivers programs to help adults manage chronic health conditions, prevent falls, and foster well being.

The Arrowhead Area Agency on Aging (AAAA) is the agency designated by the state to address the needs and concerns of all older persons at the regional and local levels in the Arrowhead Region. AAAA contracts with local service providers to deliver many direct services, such as meals, caregiver support programs, transportation, and in-home services.  Planning staff with the AAAA work to address service gaps in the region, provide support to partner organizations, and provide advocacy for aging services.

The purpose of an AAA is to carry out, under the leadership and direction of the State Agency, a wide range of functions that will lead to the development of comprehensive and coordinated community-based systems designed to assist older persons in leading independent, meaningful, and dignified lives in their own homes and communities.
